Chinese Medicine

CHINESE MEDICINE comprises:
  • Acupuncture
  • Herbal Medicine
  • Massotherapy
  • Warm Needle Therapy (Heat Lamp)
  • Cupping
  • Scraping (Gua Sha)
  • Laser Therapy / Electro Acupuncture

These therapies form what is known as Chinese Medicine and are all practised at the Coast HEALTH MATTERS clinic.

Depending on patients’ underlying complaint and presentation, often two to three different therapies are combined together, e.g. Cupping, Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine to maximise therapeutic results.

While Chinese Medicine has traditionally functioned as a primary system of healthcare, it also complements and enhances the efficacy of Western Medicine.

Diagnosis and treatment:

Pulse and Tongue diagnosis are used primarily to guide the practitioner towards a Chinese Medicine diagnosis, often referred to as patterns of disharmony.

Additionally, observations of tongue and skin colour, tones etc. including a detailed case history all lead the practitioner towards an understanding of the individual’s pattern of disharmony.

Once the Chinese Medicine diagnosis is made, treatment becomes patient specific and may include modalities such as Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Massage and Trigger Point Therapy.
